The early signs indicate that a talented group of young jumping stars will be available for purchase in two weeks’ time. The well-bred Jet Away gelding CODE NAME CUBITT, the first four-year-old point-to-point winner of 2026, impressively successful on debut at Bellharbour for handler Ian Donoghue, is a tantalising prospect. The gelding has a fine pedigree to back up his performance, being out of the Grade 3-winning Saddlers’ Hall mare Bambootcha, and a sibling to five winners, including his own-sister the Grade 1 hurdles winner Brandy Love.Terence O’Brien’s UNCLE PAD made the perfect start to his career when coming home the easy ten-length winner on debut at Ballyvodock on February 1. By Blue Bresil, he is a half-brother Highway One O Two and Doctor Harper, both graded hurdle winners.Another with great family credentials is MALINAS PARTY, runner-up on debut at Ballyvodock. She is a five-year-old Malinas own-sister to the Listed-winning hurdler Rucker Road and out of a half-sister to Countrywide Flame, winner of the Fighting Fifth Hurdle (G1) and the Triumph Hurdle (G1), and an own-sister to Party Boss, a Listed winner on the Flat. The Largy Bloodstock-owned LARGY SILVER (Sholokhov) and WINGS OF AYRTON (Wings Of Eagles), owned by Jamie Sloan, finished first and second on debut at Tyrella in January, a one-two for handler Stuart Crawford.
