Grade 2 Success for Love Envoi

Love Envoi extended her unbeaten record to five when taking Grade 2 honours in the Jane Seymour Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Sandown yesterday.

The very likeable six-year-old daughter of Westerner was allowed to stride on down the far side of the track and put her rivals to the sword. She would have won with even more authority had she not got in tight to the second last hurdle. She has a lovely attitude and could take her chance in the Mares’ Novice Hurdle at next month’s Cheltenham Festival for which she is an 8/1 shot.

Winning syndicate manager Noel Fehily commented, “she is a very tough mare with a lovely attitude, she came from a great nursery (Sean Doyle, Monbeg Stables) and has done nothing but improve since we acquired her.”

She was purchased for £38,000 by Jerry McGrath from Sean Doyle’s Monbeg Stables at last year’s Tattersalls Cheltenham March Sale at Park Paddocks, Newmarket.

She is now the 65th black type winner since January last year. The next sale to source your future winners is next Thursday – 24th February from 1.00pm at Cheltenham Racecourse.
