Point to Pointers strengthen the new Tattersalls Ireland Ascot March Sale

The new Tattersalls Ireland Ascot March Sale to be staged at 10.30am on Thursday 23 March has been strategically positioned the week after the Cheltenham Festival meeting and sale in order to facilitate quality Point to Pointers that would normally have to wait until the Cheltenham April Sale.

The support from Irish Point to Point trainers and their UK counterparts has enabled us to offer a number of talented performers.

Further quality entries will be taken from Point to Points over the next two weekends as Wild Cards and their pedigrees and videos will be added as they are accepted.

The second horse FROZEN FLAME subsequently sold for £145,000 at the recent Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham January Sale. On his latest outing in a top class field he found only one too good when placed 2nd to the highly talented RAPID ESCAPE entered in the Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham Festival Sale next Thursday.

Lot 117: Patgary 5yo gelding by Ballingary:
This well bred French son of Ballingarry has shown solid progression on his last two starts having practically led from flag fall he set the race alight from two out to win the 5&6yo Geldings Maiden by 4 1/2 lengths at Tyrella on 4 March.

He showed a great attitude and displayed an excellent round of jumping to run out a comfortable debut winner of the hotly contested 6yo+ Geldings Maiden point to point at Punchestown on 12 February. It was a noteworthy effort from a gelding who now holds track aspirations for the future.

Lot 123: Mickey Shea 5yo gelding by Mr Dinos:
Showed real battling qualities from two out to stay on and win the 5yo Maiden at Kildorrery on 19 February by 3 lengths with the third horse a further 10 lengths behind. He looks a real staying chaser in the making who has improved with every run.

Lot 124: Asking Questions 5yo gelding by Ask:
The winner of the 5yo Geldings Maiden at Tyrella on 28 January. This improving son of Ask then ran a very creditable 2nd at the same venue to AS THE CROW FLIES who was completing his fourth consecutive victory. He is an imposing sort who travels strongly in his races and has more to give.

Lot 125: Poppy Hill 5yo mare by Black Sam Bellamy:
Poppy Hill jumped well throughout and kept going all the way to the line showing a very game attitude to out battle her nearest rival when winning the 5yo Mares Maiden at Borris House on 26 February.

Having travelled well in mid-division throughout she produced a good jump at the last fence to battle gamely to the line to win the 5yo+ Mares Maiden at Borris House on 26 February.
