Talkischeap shines in end of season finale

The Grade 3 BET365 Gold Cup at Sandown brought down the curtain on another scintillating jumps season and it was Cheltenham Sales’ graduate Talkischeap that grabbed all the headlines romping to a 10 length victory.

The son of Getaway travelled comfortably within himself for much of the contest and never missed a beat throughout and could be called the winner along from home under Wayne Hutchinson.

The improving seven-year-old now looks set to contest all the top staying chases next season.

He was purchased at the 2016 November Sale by Highflyer Bloodstock for £55,000 for owner Charles Dingwall from Donnchadh Doyle’s Monbeg Stables.

Earlier on the card in the opening race - the Novices’ Championship Handicap Hurdle Final Getaway Trump recorded his fourth win of the season for champion trainer Paul Nicholls under Harry Cobden.

The son of Getaway was purchased by Tom Malone for £90,000 at the 2017 November Sale after winning his Maiden point-to-point for Vincent Halley and he rates a very exciting Novice Chase prospect for next season.

The 2018/19 season has proved yet another fruitful campaign for Cheltenham Sales graduates with a total of 50 black type races won.

The next sale at Cheltenham will be staged on Thursday 30th May at 1.00pm.
